Red Hat
From Mandrivausers Wiki
Red Hat, Inc. is a company founded in 1993 and responsible for two major Linux distributions, a commercial, enterprise edition called Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and a community effort called Fedora Core.
RHEL is intended for enterprise use, which means license fees and support contracts. Fedora Core is the freely available version intended more for personal use. However the source code for RHEL is also freely available and some projects take this source code, remove the trademarked Red Hat components and transform into cloned distributions, for example CentOS.
[edit] Features
Red Hat, along with Mandriva, uses the RPM package format, although with a different package manager. The default desktop is Gnome.
