Welcome to the Mandriva Users Wiki

This wiki is still young, so any help to expand and improve it is welcome. Please feel free to add pages and information (see the lists of pages to transfer from the old wiki and wanted pages for ideas). This wiki is linked with the IPB forums at Mandrivausers.org - accounts registered there are active here. So, if you have a Mandrivausers.org account, just start editing! If not, well, register first :)

The aim of this wiki is to complement the Mandrivausers forums and provide answers to common questions. The main focus is providing support to users of Mandriva Linux but information about other Linux distributions and about Linux in general is welcome too.

An important notice and word of relieve for first time Linux users about the command line:

If you are new to Linux and start reading those guides and are baffled by all the command line commands you encounter don't let it scare you off. Most things in Linux can be done through the Graphic User Interface, or GUI, but these commands make doing things as easy as copying and pasting them in the console, instead of having to explain where to click in certain programs, especially since so many different desktops and GUI programs are available.
