Defragmenting

It is not necessary on the most commonly used file systems in Linux such as ext3 and ReiserFS. While some defragmentation utilities exist, in most cases it is considered dangerous to use such utilities (on a Linux FS) as they may result in data loss. The utility e2defrag exists for the ext2 file system, but does not work on any other file system.
